PUBLIC EDUCATION
One of the Department’s highest priorities is providing Public Fire Safety Education throughout the county. You may have seen us at your child’s school, a birthday party, grand opening, or other community event. Through these occasions, the Department promotes fire safety education to children, adults, and senior citizens throughout the county. The Division of Fire Prevention is responsible for coordinating these events throughout the year. Public education services include fire safety presentations and fire engine demonstrations for children kindergarten age and above, fire safety in the home presentations for adults, fire station tours, and appearances at grand openings and other community events. To ensure our public education programs are age-appropriate and provide the greatest educational benefit, requests involving children should be for kindergarten age and above. We are unable to accommodate requests primarily intended for preschool or daycare-aged children below kindergarten age. *Please note that we will do our best to fulfill your request, but emergency calls are our priority! We may not be able to attend if an emergency arises.We will do our best to communicate with you if this occurs.
Only requests submitted 10 days prior to the event will be considered. We are an all volunteer organization so schedules must be rearranged to fulfill requests! Also, time and date requests must be solidified when making a request. We cannot accommodate changes once the request is made unless it is 10 days later.
We will confirm if we can attend your event within 4 days of the event or sooner!
